My sister wanted a live band to play at her wedding reception.  I offered to give her the name of a guy that I knew from high school who was currently a lead guitar player for a local band.  My sister was thrilled to have the inside track on potential band.  She contacted him to get more information.  His band would be playing at a local club this Friday evening.  I suggested that we stop by the club to hear them play.  Then she could decide if she likes their style of music or not.  This way she knows what she is getting before signing a contract.
