Many adults are also interested in pursuing guitar lessons. When I was 22 years old, I decided to pursue my dream of learning to play the guitar. I signed up at a local music school for their beginner guitar lessons. During the six-week course we learned the basics of reading music and memorizing cords.  It was a fun class and I learned a lot, but decided that I needed a more one on one approach. I specifically wanted a lesson for electric guitar playing. I was able to hire the teacher from the beginner course to teach me private lessons at my home.
